I just noticed "foreach" on npm is controlled by a single maintainer.

I also noticed they let their personal email domain expire, so I bought it before someone else did.

I now control "foreach" on NPM, and the 36826 projects that depend on it.

"stablecoin" is about as accurate a term as "smart contract"

Kinda wild that we need AIs to detect stuff made by AIs and then the generator AIs will need to overcome that detection AI and its just gonna go on and on forever

Onboarding someone to Redux in React requires a serial killer style evidence board. So many parts and connections and variations and boilerplate and patterns and ugh

The worst part is knowing how many far more ergonomic alternatives exist but having to continue using Redux because ~it exists~

Part of my job is explaining our front end architecture to new team members and I try my best to make it an easy onboarding but the looks on their faces haunt me when I explain action generators.

Hey, all! What's a good digital storage solution that meets most of the following criteria relatively well?

- ethically manufactured
- low-powered
- redundant (e.g., RAID-like)
- capacious (at least 500GB, preferably)
- cheap

I've considered plugging a few USB flash drives into a USB hub and software-RAID-ing them together. But I'm open to any and all ideas.

I feel like we aren’t really keeping it one hundred right now and I think we should make movements towards that

Today's gender is the sound of the first three bars of Für Elise, over and over.

Anyone else sometimes find themselves getting a single sound effect or voice line stuck in their head from something but they can’t remember what it was even from, making it that much more irritating?

Is Bandcamp evil now? Anyone using Jamendo or Open.Audio instead? Would love a way to support artists and build a catalog of music.

Taking a few weeks off work to try and combat burnout and focus on some other stuff in my life. First things first is to just relax hard and get to a semi functional state 😅

Waking up later than usual and spending the rest of the day being shocked that its already later than you thought

Anyone around these parts play ? Specifically playing RuneScape 3? I love osrs but I’ve been really enjoying RS3 recently and would love more folks to play with. I’m still leveling and relatively early mid game on my character but learning the massive amount of new content takes a bit!

I’m in a clan now but still wanna find folks who play

Bo Burnham’s “Inside” is such a masterpiece goddamn

Rewatched it a week or so ago and still all I’m thinking about

I thought I was into mechanical keyboards and knew how deep that particular oubliette went. I mean, hell, I had an very early ergodox for a while.

Then tonight I started looking into the current scene and things are far crazier. I suddenly have super strong constraints that are only satisfied by a single experimental reddit post: reddit.com/r/ErgoMechKeyboards and I need to stop looking at this stuff.

Just putting out some feelers early, but I'm looking for folks who follow witchcraft/wicca/Celtic pagan religious practices, who speak English fluently, and are located in Canada, but folks from the US and UK I'd also be interested in connecting with. I'll be looking to recruit participants for an eventual research study, most likely this will occur in the fall at the earliest. I *expect* the study will be conducted online, the format will likely be interview (no more than an hour of time) and there will be some form of compensation. I'm still deciding on the sample size but I'd like at least 25-50 participants. More info to come later this summer. Boosts appreciated 🫶

After several days of being super allergic and then sick, my brain appears to be working again.

I'm a bit behind where I wanted to be, but:
- The Framework laptop is all set up and is now my daily personal computer.
- I've got a working doom emacs setup that I'm pretty happy with.
- I'm working through the Elixir LiveView book and enjoying writing more code. The dev tooling is so good: fast, auto-refresh, live dashboard built in. Loving it.

I’m looking for new things to try and new communities to check out. What’s something that you’re super into that brings you joy or fulfillment? Hobbies, fandoms, projects, whatevs. What’re you into that you love to share with others?

Our brains literally evolved to NOT pay attention to boring stuff

We are forced to do boring things because that keeps other folks wealthy

The reason why you want to do hobbies all day is that you were supposed to be an artisan

Artisans were once seen to be the clearest sign of civilisation, not a burden

We have enough food now that all humanity could master the lyre

But we have chosen coin

and coin does not sing
